This impressive software provides the same steadfast protection of well-known antivirus programs, yet it’s surprisingly free.

Avast Home Edition guards your PC and the network with multiple shields that scan executables and files. You can select parameters for scanning, and even choose wildcards to exclude specific file types. You can adjust the sensitivity level for the program’s detectors when it comes to scanning downloaded files, instant messages, e-mails, and a host of P2Ps. Its efficient interface opens up window after window to tweak its settings to your liking, for novice to advanced level protection.

Though it took quite some time to run, we’re impressed with this application’s boot-time antivirus scan. Fortunately, if you’re in a pinch you can bypass it. If malicious contents are detected, Avast comes to the rescue with handy virus cleanup tools. Some decent PC controls are even handed out here. You can block certain URLs and file operations, such as writing to files or even renaming, deleting or formatting them.

People with Windows 7 on a home computer or currently running Windows Home
Server can sign up here on Microsoft's site.

Microsoft is also proposing PP3 as a storage and backup solution for netbooks
and other small, low power computers, which can use the Home Server as a
additional storage. The supported  resolution now is 1024×600 which is just
what the NetBook users need.

Power Pack 3 also includes media file sharing. Windows Search 4 is baked into
PP3 for speedier search times, indexing times, and stability across all document
libraries on the network. Files encrypted with Encrypting File System (EFS) are
now supported with search.

The TV Archive option in Windows Media Center will now
record television to the home server running PP3 beta in smaller resolutions 
(320×240, 500 Kbps) for Windows Mobile devices and (640×480, 1500 Kbps) for the
Zune . It appears As the video files are limited to WMV it is unlikely non Windows devices to take advantage of these futures.

Here's what you need to know before you get started:

• Downloads will be available until August
  20, 2009. After that, you can still install the RC and you can get
  a product key if you need one.

  Installation: If you are
  running Windows 7 Beta you'll need to back up your data (preferably on an
  external device) and then do a clean install of the Windows 7 Release
  Candidate. Then, you'll need to reinstall applications and restore your
  files. If you need help, please see the Installation

• 
  Tech details/updates: before
  installing the RC, please read the Release
  Notes and Things
  to Know for important
  information about the release.

• 
  Routine news: For
  day-to-day news, keep an eye on the team

• 
  Back up your data: We
  know you know this already, but please back up your data and please don't
  test the RC on your primary home or business PC.

• 
  Keep your PC updated: To
  get critical updates, be sure to turn on automatic updates in Windows
  Update.

• 
  Remember expiration dates: Please
  plan ahead for the Beta and RC expiration dates. To avoid interruption,
  you'll need to rebuild your test machine using a valid version of Windows
  before the software expires. Windows will notify you that the expiration
  process is beginning and two weeks later your PC will begin shutting down
  every two hours. The Beta expires on August
  1, 2009, and bi-hourly shutdowns will begin July
  1, 2009. The RC will expireJune
  1, 2010, and the bi-hourly shutdowns will begin on March
  1, 2010. In both cases, you'll need to rebuild your test PC to
  replace the OS and reinstall all your programs and data.

Otakusoftware – 3D Desktop Organizer

I have never used a 3D organizer so I decided to try one!
My personal experience was that it does not save time and/or space, it is just a fancy gadget!

I recorded my installation and the video is being currently processed by youtube, hopefully by the time you read this it will be ready.

The 3D organizer that I tested was created by Otakusoft

There was one problem that I encountered and it is shown on the video, when I change the wallpaper on any side on the cube and then I rotate the cube, as soon as i go back to the side with the different wallpaper it disappears. So from that point on I lost interest!
