NBA 2K10 Installation on Windows 7

20 comments October 12th, 2009

NBA 2K10 was released today and I installed on windows 7. The installation was easy and the game plays very good so far. There seem to be no glitches or problems of any sort on Windows 7.

NBA2K10 is a very good Basketball game. I even dear to say it could be one of the best out there at the moment. Unfortunately I am not a great fan of Basketball games but I was still impressed by the graphics of the game. If there are installation issues with this game on Windows 7 Please write in the comments section of this article.

1 comment October 5th, 2009

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is to be released on October 6, 2009. I cannot wait to be able to buy this game and install it on my computer. As I have done previously,

I anticipate to install the game on both Windows 7 and Windows Vista and to compare the performance. Also I will make a video of the instalation process of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising on both WIndows 7 and Windows Vista. The only problem that I have so far is I am starting to run out of hard disk space as the new relseased games are usually over 3 to 4 Gb.

Need for Speed Shift was released on Sep. 15 2009. So I got it and couldn’t wait to test it on my machine. So I decided that I will install it on both OS’ – Windows 7 and Windows Vista. I have both in dual boot mode.

I was surprised to discover that NFS Shift was actually running a lot better on Windows 7 and by a lot I mean about 50%. On Windows Vista my graphics default settings were very low compared to those in Windows 7.

This clearly shows that Windows 7 is going to be the chose of OS for the hard core PC gamers.

Need For Speed Shift is a great game maybe one of the best of the NFS series. The car collection is great. The game experience is very exiting. There is a great simulation of the race driving.

Windows 7 Student Discount Cheat

1 comment September 25th, 2009

Microsoft has offered Windows 7 for 30$ to students. In order to take advantage of this offer College students need to provide their college email. However the school emails are based on student numbers for example ff2356@CollegeX.edu.

Windows 7 for Students

Windows 7 Student Discount

What the colleges offer is that students can customize their emails so the emails contain names for example ff2356@CollegeX.edu can be customized to SmithWillson@collegeX.com.

Now this person will be able to get the emails sent to both ff2356@CollegeX.edu and SmithWillson@collegeX.com. But this customization is not final the student can keep on changing his email as long as no other current student is using the desired name.

Apparently MS does not recognizes this email changes so the same student can keep on changing his/her email name and keep ordering discounted copies of Windows 7.

Is this going to bring Windows 7 Student Discount to a premature end or Microsoft will just take the lost, and how many people will take advantage of this exploit… this all remains mystery for now! You can order a student copy from Microsoft Online Store

There are plenty of solid compression utilities to choose from, but this shareware powerhouse offers the features and ease of use that place it at the top of the compression category. WinRAR is easy to use, lightweight, and flexible.

An intuitive interface lets you mouse over icons to see their functions, and if you don’t like their candy-coated appearance, you can always choose from several themes at the developer’s site. The Folder Tree Panel makes sifting through your directories to find files easier than ever. But once you see the size savings of a RAR archive, with a compression ratio of 8 percent to 15 percent better than the ZIP format, you’ll understand why so many users and developers are making the switch from other apps. With virus scans now integrated and minor interface tweaks for Vista, only the slightly slower decompression speed holds the app back.

Beyond its good looks and right-click readiness for basic compression and unzipping, WinRAR offers unpacking support for a large number of archive formats, including TAR, ACE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, and ZIP. WinRAR’s advanced features are icing on the cake, with Unicode support for international formatting, embedded file comments, damaged archive repair, archive locking, self-extracting archives, and easy encryption. There’s also the option to automatically delete temporary files and just-archived files. Anyone seeking an all-in-one archiving solution would be remiss to not check out WinRAR

Windows 7 Bug Reported, Oct 22 With Question Mark!

No comments August 5th, 2009

Windows 7 appears to have a bug according to various Web sources. Windows 7 RTM build 7600.16385 has a fatal bug that causes the OS to crush and show the “Blue Screen of Death”

The problem involves chkdsk.exe, when used for secondary portion (non boot partition) and the problem comes from a memory leak which causes the system to run out of operating memory. On faster computers with more memory it only causes them to slow down and restart may be required but for older machines this results in blue error screen.

It is up to MS to decide how would they go about this problem.
