Windows 7 Family Pack

Microsoft today announced that the Family Pack for Windows 7 will cost $149.99 in the US. Which will save about $200 for the three upgrade licenses. The Windows 7 Family Pack, which allows you to upgrade three PCs to Windows 7 Home Premium, will be available on October 22, 2009, the day of general public release of Windows 7.

The Windows 7 Family Pack was first exposed early this month when an extra clause was noticed in the Microsoft Software License Terms about the Home Premium edition and not other editions like Professional and Ultimate was mentioned. Three weeks later, Microsoft confirmed the existence of the Family Pack but did not say what the price would be.

Mobile Apps for Muslims on the Rise

No comments July 31st, 2009

There are thousands of mobile application to download for free from various sites online such as http://Download.com, they all can help people with different functions; notes, schedule, games, maps, internet search, picture editing, document previews and so on.. However, it seems like the applications that are on a rise are aplications that have Quran citation and prayer timers for Muslims.

I personally have managed to stay away from any kind of religion, but what ameses me is that the modern smarth phones can be put to use in variety of ways in order to manage time and information in efficient way.

We already know this from the iPhone commercials “there is an app for that” but Microsoft is getting there too with the opening of the new Windows Mobile Application store

Windows 7 Ultimate cracked (OEM master key)

TORRENT SEARCH

Windows 7 Ultimate has been cracked with via the leaked OEM DVD ISO from Lenovo. The crack makes available permanent offline activation and passes Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA).The ISO was hacked to retrieve the OEM-SLP and certificate for Windows 7 Ultimate.
That cracked version can be found on torrents.

The hack is nothing new, as it uses the same techniques to bypass activation and verification in previous Vista editions.

A copy of an OEM Windows 7 Ultimate ISO from Lenovo has leaked on Japanese’s forums . From there, hackers/crackers were able to extract two critical bits of information: Windows 7’s OEM-SLP (system-locked pre-installation) product key and the OEM certificate for Windows 7 Ultimate.

After comes the modifying of  a system’s BIOS to deceive the operating system that the PC is an authentic OEM machine. This can be done by changing the values found in the  SLIC – Software Licensing Description Table.

Once the system appears as OEM computer, the OEM-SLP and OEM certificate allow for permanent, validated activation of the OS.

This crack can be used on all machines. Just their BIOS will be a little disguised. These cracked versions are usually easily disabled via the regular Windows Updates.

Windows Mobile Application Store

Microsoft opened its Windows Marketplace for Mobile application store to software developers on Monday. This step has been taken as a result of Apple’s iPhone App Store success.

MS has approved 29 countries that can submit applications to Windows Marketplace and wait for approval.

This will provide Microsoft with an opportunity to get on the global market of cellphone applications, a spot that Apple has been dominant after the iPhone Application Store.

Software developers are able to include their own marketing materials and will gain revenue based on sales.

The neat future is that there is a money back guarantee offered to the estimated 30 million customers of the Windows App Store.

No comments July 29th, 2009

We all know that MS Windows 7 team has been working over a year closely with hardware manufacturers and the results have been phenomenal. Also software manufacturers and more specifically game manufacturers have been following on Windows 7 too. It seems like now With the new DirectX 11, for Windows 7 and Vista, game developers will be able to reach much better results in the area of graphics and smoothness.

From what MS, Intel and NVIDIA are saying Windows 7 will be the OS of choice for whose who enjoy spending time with a high quality PC game. There are even rumors that big game manufacturers such as Blizzard (Diablo III)  are waiting for the Windows 7 release to make final tweaks to their products before releasing them to market. This is done to ensure that they have used up what Windows 7 offers.

From XP to Windows 7 – No Direct Update Option!

No comments July 27th, 2009

Windows XP is as of now the most preffered Windows version worldwide. It is more reliable and more stable than anything else, or is it? It was up until Windows 7 came to live (Official release Oct. 22, 2009). Microsoft did not make it easy for the XP customers since they will not have the opotion to directly update to Windows 7. This means that all of their applications will need to be reinstalled in a new Windows 7 install. Here comes the tricky park; “Which software works on Windows 7?”. Well if you need applications that are regulary updated such as FireFox, MS Office and so on, you are in good shape. However, if you are using some old software that you have installed 2002 and never updated, you need to do a little research and find the latest Windows 7 supported version or to find alternative software.

So here are your migrating options:

You can doual booth Windows XP and Windows 7 – (This will allow you to switch to XP at anytime and use XP applications as needed) (Recommended)

You can install Windows 7 on a new conputer and keep XP on your old one (This will allow you also to acces XP applications at anytime)

Ofcourse you always have the option to make a clean install but then you are risking to loose some time when a needed application is not avaliable for Windows 7
